Chairman and co-founder of eGenio Education Solutions, David Berman is an active investor and is currently Executive Vice President of Build.com and Founder and Executive Vice President of Real Valuable, LLC, a mobile e-commerce Company. David brings to eGenio extensive experience in developing long term shareholder value to new or early stage growth companies.
Executive Vice President and CFO of BI-LO LLC, a privately held retail chain operating over 200 supermarkets throughout the Southeast. Previously he held similar positions in retail companies such as Revco Drug Stores and Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts. He is a certified public accountant and brings to eGenio experience in accounting and finance, information systems, corporate communications and investor relations.
CEO and co-founder of OneCommunity, the award winning project to create a connected community throughout Northeast Ohio through ultra broadband wired and wireless network connectivity, has been a leader in the realm Information Technology for the past 25 years. Previously, he was Vice President for Information Technology Services and Chief Information Officer at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Over the years, Lev has served on a number boards serving education and technology in the Cleveland area.
CEO and co-founder of eGenio Education Solutions, Don Greenberg is a recognized thought leader in the areas of strategic marketing and branding, business development, development of vertical and horizontal distribution channels, new markets, as well as building and execution planning of merger and acquisition strategies for growing companies. Prior to launching eGenio, he served as executive director of business development for Kichler Lighting, a leading manufacturer of decorative lighting and home accessory products.
Senior Vice President – Business Development for Direct Energy US Home Services in Dayton, OH. Dan is a Certified Public Accountant and his professional experience crosses over many disciplines that benefit the eGenio team including accounting, finance, sales, risk management, human resources, information systems, corporate communications and mergers, acquisitions and dispositions.
Ed McManus has over 30 years of professional experience in the areas of operations, logistics, marketing and distribution for large retail food & drug store chains. Most recently Ed was President & CEO of Hawk Operations and Acquisitions, a private equity investment firm. Ed continues to share his business expertise as a Client Executive with Accenture, training associates from managers to partners in “real life” business exercises.
President and CEO of Sauder Woodworking Co., Archbold, Ohio. Kevin leads North America’s largest manufacturer of ready-to-assemble home and office furniture. He brings a breadth of operational and marketing expertise that is instrumental in ensuring eGenio’s widespread success.
An educator, business and technology consultant, local government activist, entrepreneur, blogger, and photographer. This follows a thirty plus year career in senior technology management.
Neal Goff is President of Egremont Associates, LLC, a consulting firm that works with educational publishers and technology companies on a wide range of strategic, marketing and product development issues. Before founding Egremont Associates, Neal served as President of several educational and children’s publishing companies, including Prentice Hall Direct, Scholastic Library Publishing and, most recently, the Weekly Reader Publishing Group. Neal is the past President of the Association of Educational Publishers’ Board of Directors and is also on the Board of Directors of ReadWorks.org.
As president of Landau Public Relations in Cleveland, Ohio, Howard Landau brings a breadth of expertise in launching new products and providing marketing counsel to tap niche markets and reach key audiences.
Tom Miller is a Community Technology Executive with OneCommunity, a Cleveland-based non-profit. He leads their education department and works with Northeast Ohio schools. Prior to joining OneCommunity, Tom spent 13 years with the Howard County (Md.) Public School System, most recently as the Executive Director of Instruction and Business Technology. Tom also spent seven years as a middle school and high school teacher. Tom brings the experience and skills of the educator and the technologist to our board.
Mel Riddile is the 2007 winner of the national middle school principal of the year award. He is a recognized leader in turning around underperforming schools, as well as an authority on using technology tools to drive improvements in education.
President of Footsteps to Brilliance, Ilene Rosenthal is an attorney, accomplished music teacher and founder of two education technology companies. She brings the unique combination of an educator, technology visionary and entrepreneur to the board.

A principal in Brecksville, Ohio, Eva O’Mara brings her frontline experience to eGenio as a nationally recognized school administrator and highly respected and experienced teacher.
Kathy Schrock is a nationally recognized thought leader on the use of technology in education. Formerly Director of Technology for Nauset Public Schools in Massachusetts. She currently writes a leading blog on education is an adjunct professor at Wilkes University and Arcadia University.
